Welcome to the Berkeley County,WV  Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
 

The Berkeley County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is responsible for mitigating and maintaining the emergency management plan that prepares for public recovery and relieves and reduces human suffering following events of natural or man made disasters,catastrophes,or terrorist threats for Berkeley County.In addition, Emergency Services staffs a fire engine for mutual aid support to local Volunteer Fire Departments in the county, a Haz- Mat Response Team with fully equipped vehicle to handle Haz- Mat Emergencies and a Swift Water Rescue Boat during flooding.

The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management works in conjunction with State, Federal and Local Authorities, including the surrounding Berkeley County area when required.

The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will activate the Emergency Operations Center during any major disaster to allow coordination of all support agencies to provide continuity of services to the public.OHSEM also prepares and distributes information and procedures governing emergency activities during a disaster.

 

 Engine 90 is staffed Monday-Friday 0600 to 1800 hours. The Haz-Mat Unit is also staffed Monday-Friday by the on duty crew. Haz-Mat tones will be sounded to bring in off duty personnel for additional man power. Any Haz-Mat calls after the hours of 1800, the Haz-Mat tones will be set off to bring in off-duty personnel.
